Celestial thoughts
Erin (pointing to a contrail): hey, look Mama! A plane.
Me: how can you tell?
E: the clouds coming from the plane are close. Much closer than a shooting star. We can only see the shooting stars in the night time. Then they are far away too.
Me (just curious): good point. There are stars at night and the Sun in the day. So where do the night stars go at night?
E: Hmmmmmm. I think they gather close to the sun. Then when it is night, they spread out one by one as the Sun goes down to bed.
