Fashion Friday

Robin is showing off her adorable purple garden outfit. While a good friend is adept at making cute skirts such as this one, this Mama chose the lazy route and obtained it here.  The shoes are See Kai Run hand-me-downs from Erin. Robin loves them and will happily point out the little silver stars on them to anyone interested.

And then there's my little Ab Fab girl.... This colorful outfit was selected by her Grammie and Poppy.  The story goes they saw it in the window when driving by a children's store, were compelled to stop and purchase it for our little sparkle girl.  I think it does suit her well.

Of course, most days, the fashion runs more in this direction:

Reason # 28 why I love Brian

He'd win the extreme babywearing competition.

Sisters, sisters....

Growing up sandwiched between to brothers, I always wanted coveted a Sister. Someone to share secrets, swap clothes, test out new hair styles, gossip about little bits of life. . . I am so glad I have two girls.  And while we're not trying to force a friendship between them, our job is to help them respect each other, a friendship seems to be emerging.

Crib Sleepover

Most mornings, I'm rushing trying to get everyone packed, dressed, fed, combed, brushed, pottied, dressed again because there's been a spill, you know, the regular routine.  I'll leave the girls to their own devices for a few minutes, and more and more often I'm rewarded with hysterical giggles and shrieks as they amuse themselves with a new made-up game.

Splash I

The other day when Robin was napping, I was giving Erin the Marshmallow test with some jelly beans: eat one now, or wait for a period of time and eat three later. Well, she passed the test with flying colors.  And so the prize, four jellybeans.  She ate three, then asked for a baggie. I asked her if she was saving it for later, she replied, "well, I had three, so this one is for Robin."

Girls on a tree

As the saying goes, I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship.

Dinosaur Picnic

We scored a  Bucket of Dinosaurs awhile back and it's been a popular toy with both girls since.  Robin kisses each and lays them down, saying "ni ni".  Erin created a more involved game whereby the herbivores have their fill, but eat a poisonous plant and die followed by the carnivores wandering by and having a feast.  It's a tad gruesome.

A few days ago, the game evolved into a kinder, friendlier Mesozoic era, where each dinosaur stomped by, angry and hungry, and were invited to join the circle and partake of a delicious oyster cracker meal.
