CSA box: More Apricots and Peaches.

So far, we've made fruit leather, preserves, canned them, now I'm onto straight drying them.  Guess what everyone is getting for Christmas?

I mean, looking at the picture it doesn't look like that much fruit.  But the bowl in the background is a 1.5c bowl.  So, these are not little itty bitty apricots.  These are "I'm done after one" kinda fruits.  And we have 6# of them.

At least we're enjoying untold regularity in this household.

I guess at a certain age one switches mantras from "Safety First" to "Fiber First". I'd have figured you were a couple of decades away from that, but ... to each their own!

Pies?
You can make pies up, all but the cooking (dough, filling, etc), and then foil them and freeze them. This is what we do in Montana, as the fresh fruit for pies has such a sort season. I imagine the same could be done with peach empanadas, etc. The girls might like that better than pie...
Just a thought...
