The House is Sold

Last Wednesday, we closed on our house. Our debts are paid off, and we've got a big check in the bank. We rent back the house for a month, then we take off for California somewhere around July 15th.

It's pretty incredible for us to see what has changed in the six years we've been in this place. For those of you who didn't see it, this place was a complete and utter shithole when we first moved in. I can't fit all the nights and weekends that we've spend on this place into my head -- we've swung a sledgehammer and wielded a paint roller more times than I care to remember at the moment. On a good note, I think there was only one trip to the ER.

I occasionally try pretending that I'm not the same person with extremely questionable judgment who bought the place, but I'm sure we saw something in this place when we decided to turn it into a home. It's been a great house.

I think the fact that it sold that fast in this is testament to your efforts. I'm going to miss having you guys around :(

No, don't go!! Rent your own house forever and stay! Or go if you must, but be sure to visit and keep your blog updated regularly. You guys will seriously be missed.

After spending 48 hours in your old/new neck of the woods, have fun with that traffic! Yikes. :)

It looks soooooo good. It's hard to fix up a house and leave it. I still have dreams about our house in DC.
