Fashion Friday - Parisian Style.

Grammy and Papa just returned from France along with a matching set of berets for the family.

And, Erin got a birthday surprise package from the Santa Cruz cousins.

Combine them, and this is what results:

5th B-day "Big People" party

This year for Erin's birthday both sets of grandparents will be in Europe. So, we celebrated with them a few weeks early by having an ice cream party!

I think Brian was on photography detail, as I got no pictures of the events.  But here she is one day later, wearing her new birthday dress and doing a birthday project - making a pot holder with a metal loom.

Remember that?  I loved that project as kid!  Actually, it took a lot of restraint not to "help" her a ton and make my own.  She was incredibly focused and even figured out a simpler way to get the cross-loops woven in using her fingers and not the metal hook.  She got about half way done, but we cut her off to start bed time procedures.

A Package! A Package!!!!

I got a package in the mail.  A surprise package!!!
Kitty Cody helped me inspect it, lest it be a bomb.  It checked out.

YAY!   Bunny fruit snacks!!  Oh, wait. . . .

ooooo.... a fancy, perfectly knit, soft cozy cowl.

Thank you every so much, Ms. Christie!  And now to get my hand made offerings off in the mail. . .

Fancy nails

A little while ago, we took Grandma to get a pedicure to celebrate her birthday.  Erin came and got a polish change.

Selecting their colors:

Pink sparkles, of course!

All done, now to read Brides magazine while it dries.

Fancy nails!  The lady actually painted a flower on each of Erin's big toes.  Oh, and only charged me $5!  Fun and happy belated birthday Grandma!

Fashionista Erin and Robin's First Day

Today was busy!  Erin discovered a new way to accessorize: ribbons twisted and tied on her arm.  I think it makes her look very Renaissance, or maybe it's also the fancy dress she loves to wear:

And.... today is Robin's first day at preschool summer camp.  This marks her entry into real pre-school. She took one look around, clung to my leg for about 5 seconds, then ran off to play.  No kiss goodbye, no hug, no tears.  She had a long, 4-hour day and came home exhaustedly happy.

Fashion Friday: Earring and Clip

Little aqua blue clip and princess stick-on earrings really do accentuate the sparkle pink bow top with grey ruffle sleeve accent.

I kid you not, Robin wore this shirt this summer when we were out and about and people still assumed she was a boy.  Can't wait sometimes for her hair to grow in.

Fashion Friday: Hair Clips

Frequently, in lieu of combing Erin's hair she has the option of pony tails.  Today she decided hair clips would be better. Two of each color.  Worked for me.

Moustache III

And goatee, I suppose.  Robin also loves the blueberry smoothie.  And making funny faces.  And mustaches.

And look - eyebrows!

Ruffle skirts!

A little more fashion for Sunday.

Erin got this skirt for Christmas from Santa Cruz cousins.  The size is bigger than her normal size, but it seems to fit.  She's found out the top part of the skirt can be pulled over her chest to make a strapless dress.

Robin got this skirt as a dress-up set for Christmas.  She loves it.  She wears it all day and cries when I have to wash it.  She calls it her, "Yo ho a pirate life for me".

Fashion Friday: Rah rah rah!

DSC_0007

Brian, Erin, and Robin went to our nephew/cousin's football game last night. In honor of the outing, I thought Robin would look smashing in this mini-Bruins cheerleading uniform. She was energized, especially when she realized just how much fun pom-pons can be.

You will notice the worlds smallest pig tails on this child. No matter how frilly or girly the outfit she wears, she is always assumed to be a boy. Poor kid.

Future occupation #56

Hairdresser.

Erin was enamored with the front-do.  She said I was ready to sing Rock N'Roll.

The main "do".  Notice: the shiny silver is the shiny silver in my hair.

The final product.  Complete with 2 head-bands, 15 clips, LOTS of brushing and water spray.

Fashion Friday - Wanna be a Cowgirl

This outfit is *all* Erin.  It began with the shirt, then skirt, then pigtails, then by finding the cowboy boots in the garage.  But what really ties it together is the skull bracelet.  That's my little Cowgirl!
