4 weeks!
1 month stats:
Weight: 10 pounds, 5 oz. (75th-90th %)
Height: 22.5 inches (90th %)
Head Circumference: 39 cm (90th %)
Weight gain in 4 weeks: 2 pounds, 5.5 oz.
Brian calculates that at this rate, at age 5, Robin will weigh 42 million pounds. By age 10, 219 trillion pounds. We probably need a bigger car seat.
Robin is tracking our gaze. She graced us this week with a honest-to-goodness smile. At her sister, of course. She has a small dimple on her right cheek.

California Living
BBQ pollo asada tacos. With mango salsa. Eaten on our patio furniture. On our deck. Without wearing sweaters. In March.
(Note: this was not the taco we ate. Ours was better.)

3 weeks!
OK, it's really 3 weeks, 1 day here. The sleep-deprived warp zone called New Mommyhood somehow meant Wed got lost in a strange time warp.
Here's what's new: Robin has perfected her focused gaze. She's got Quiet Alert down, but not for very long. She sometimes lets Mommy sleep for 3 hours at a time. Her eyes are still blue, but dark. We wonder if they will change to brown.
In Erin news, the fine art of body decoration is in full swing.

Robin June, Week 2
Robin had a great 2-week well baby visit today.
She's gaining weight like milk is going out of style, and now tips the scales at 9 pounds 3 oz. Her head is expanding too, and is 38 cm. She's sprouting upwards too and measures 22 inches.
She's growing in other ways too - she coos during and after feeds, she makes lots of cute grunts, squeeks, and chirps, and she is tracking with her eyes. When she is falling asleep the faintest of grins spreads across her face, and we get a peek into how her face will shine in a few weeks when she begins to smile outright.
Her big sister continues to be a huge help and loves to point out Robin's tiny features. Erin also tells us frequent stories, most beginning with "When I was born, I was a baby and I ..."

Rock City
Erin doesn't have school Mondays, so she and I gave Mom the day off and went for a trip up to Rock City in Mt. Diablo State Park. I haven't been here since high school, and I found it to be better than I remembered. There were great sandstone boulders to clamber over, scenic picnic spots, and a wonderful feeling of being far away from it all.
Erin took to the rock climbing a little too well -- she's fearless, unlike her father. "Woah, woah, woah! That's too high, there, kiddo. Wait for Dad." I was kept on my toes.

U2 Review
Listening to U2 today in the car:
B: Hey E, can you say "U2"?
E: U... 2!
B: Good, this is Bono singing. What do you think?
E: [thinking]. I don't like that guy!
Before Greg flies out to correct Erin, this occurred later:
B: So what do you think, kiddo?
E: Bon-oh is gooooood!
